Pine Valley Special Service District Meeting (PVSSD): Minutes of the Meeting held On March 2, 2011

Attending Members: Mary Esther Putnam (Chair); Dall Winn; John Nichols; Jeff Gardner

Also Present: Gerald Schiefer (Fire Chief); George Cropper (Treasurer); Beverly Udell (Secretary)

Absent: Spence Beckstrom

Guests: Robert Herpel; Guin Winn

 

1.  General Business:

a/b. Welcome – Meeting was opened by Mary Esther (Chair) at 6:01 PM and the Pledge of Allegiance was said.

c. Meeting Minutes for February 2, 2011 were reviewed. Jeff motioned to approve the minutes. Dall seconded the motion. Motion carried.

d. Pine Valley Building Permits Reviewed:  N/A 

e. Bob Herpel: Bob (Utah Heritage Realty) briefly came in to let the Board know that there would be a Washington County Planning Commission meeting on March 8, 2011 at 1:30, during which there would be discussion about the proposed use of the old Allan Cannon house. There are now new owners (the sale closed), who wish to turn the home into a business retreat or reunion center and are seeking a Conditional Use Permit from the Planning Commission.

f. Board Member Reports:

Mary Esther: N/A

John: N/A

Jeff: Snow mobiles have been a problem in the valley. Utah law states that snow mobiles can only be used on designated roads that will NOT be plowed anytime during the whole snow season.

Dall: N/A

g. Fire Chief – Gerald (see report)  Mary Esther said in her opinion that Beverly and Jamie can go to Las Vegas for the EMT Conference. * There will be a Wilderness Medicine clinic here in Pine Valley held the last week in August. * GIS (Geographic Information System) manager said that there might be some address changes in Pine Valley.

h. Treasurer Report – George (see report).

 

Special Note: Jeff and Donna Gardner really went above and beyond in the helping of the Holdsworth family during the time of and after the passing of Dave Holdsworth.
