Welcome, Prayer & Pledge of Allegiance:  Frank called the meeting to order, Frank provided the prayer, and Emily led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Pine Valley Overlay Zone Requests:  Garrett Hafen requested approval to add an additional building to a property with an existing home.  Emily explained the reasoning behind the Pine Valley Overlay Zone Ordinance and reviewed specific guidelines with Garrett.  Emily approved recommending that the county issue a building permit; Tom seconded, and all in favor.

Board Member Reports:

Pine Valley Activities—Frank mentioned a community workshop, Emergency Water Solutions, which will be held on August 3rd at 4:00 p.m. at the Fire Station.

Traffic Report: Tom reported the amount of traffic in the valley and the number of vehicles speeding. He mentioned that law enforcement is frequently in the valley.

Washington County Crime Report – Herman reported that the jail population is at an all-time high this year.  Releases in the last 14 days are at a twelve-month high, as is the population.  He mentioned that suspects were arrested at Snow Canyon State Park for suspicious activity.  He suggests always filming and calling 911, reminding us to lock vehicles and conceal expensive items.  An article was in the news regarding a man at Old Iron Town who was gored by a bull, and a video is circulating on social media that shows a black bear in the campground.  Be aware and exercise caution around animals.

Five County Public & Pine Valley Health Report: No report.

Widening Main Street/Walking PathThis is on hold and will be removed from the agenda.

Community Watch:  No report.

Sheriff’s Office Report:  Discussed under the Board Member Reports.

Treasurer Report:  Rick reported on the June financials. Emily moved to approve the financials, Tom seconded and all in favor.

Citizens Request:

None.

Herman made a motion to adjourn; Emily seconded, all in favor.

The next scheduled PVLAD meeting will be on August 7, 2024.

Welcome:  Mary Esther called the meeting to order.

June Meeting Minutes:Allen approved the minutes for public record, Steve seconded and all in favor.

Board Member Reports:  Mary Esther thanked the flag crew for the beautiful display of flags during the summer holidays.

Snow Ordinance:  No report.  This item will be removed from the agenda.

Fire Department Report:  Robert reported twelve calls in June.  Eight EMS, a power line issue, search & rescue, carbon monoxide, and structure fire in Central.  One hundred and forty-six hours and twenty-nine equipment hours were reported. Along with training and other volunteer hours, a total of four hundred and ninety-seven volunteer hours were reported and documented.

Robert asked the board if the fire department tables and chairs could be used by full-time residents only. The time and effort were discussed to ensure we receive all the tables and chairs back and in good working order, whether a deposit or fee should be charged, and whether all Pine Valley residents should also have the use.  After several comments and discussions, Robert will present guidelines for using the tables and chairs in the next meeting.

Community Center:  No updates.  This item will be removed from the agenda for now.

Treasurer Report: Rick reported the financials. Money was spent on repairs and improvements for the EMS room, wildland gear, and PPE shirts. Brush 143 was sold for $20,000. Emily asked who tracks and records fundraising funds. She will ask the county and report. Allen moved to approve the financials, Emily seconded, and all were in favor.
