Pine Valley Special Services District Meeting
October 13, 2021, 6:00 pm.
Attending Board Members: Mary Esther Putnam, Chairwoman; Rick Peetz, Treasurer; Steve Shakespeare, Fire Chief; LaDawn Christensen, Secretary; Allen Cannon, Bob Dalley, Herman Nordbruch
Excused: Mike Stucki
Attending Guest: Leslie Dunkleman, Scott Dunkleman, Jack Rolfe, Lexie Rolfe
Welcome: Meeting called to order by Mary Esther. Prayer given by Rick and Pledge of Allegiance led by Scott Dunkleman.
General Business: Bob moved to approve the September 2021 meeting minutes, Herman seconded and all in favor.
Pine Valley Building Permits: Rick reported four permit fees paid last month and one this month.
Board Member Reports: Bob reported Mike Stucki’s road report to the board. The county has nothing planned for Pine Valley at this time due to inclement weather. The county is committed to look at applying mag chloride to the dirt roads in the spring of 2022. No other reports.
Post Office Building:Allen reported Cedar City Postmaster is considering post office numbers for Pine Valley residence addresses and the postmaster is waiting for ruling on equipment usage. Bob commented that the temporary mail building is being worked on and will be ready in a few weeks.
Fire Chief Report:Six incidents, all EMT calls except one smoke report that was not located.
Treasurer Report: Allen approved financials and Bob seconded, all in favor.
Citizen Requests: No requests.
The next scheduled PVSSD meeting will be November 3, 2021
PVSSD Board Meeting adjourned. Moved into PVLAD meeting.

Welcome: Frank Davie welcomed the group and excused Mike Stucki.
Minutes from September 8: Bob approved, Herman seconded and all in favor.
Board Member Reports:
Frank Davie, health related Pine Valley activities: An essential oil preparation class was given on October 14. A community emergency “Go Bag” class is scheduled for November 6th.
Allen Cannon, sheriff’s office report: Allen recommends a neighborhood watch and provided material (attached) for the board to review.
Bob Dalley, traffic report: Bob mentioned the traffic was down once again due to the colder weather. No issues.
Herman Nordbruch, county crime report – Purgatory county jail bookings in the last 5 days was 49. No significant arrests. The state reported an increase in violent crimes from 2019 to 2020.
Neighborhood Watch: Frank indicates it’s a good idea to work toward a neighborhood watch and wants a real conversation on the topic.
Home Fire Alarms: Steve mentions resident insurance rates will go down if a home alarm system is installed.
Pine Valley Dump: The dump is in good shape and clean.
Treasurer Report: Rick presented financial. Bob approved and Herman seconded. Rick will renew the subscription on the electric mph signs.
Citizens Request: No comments or requests.
