June 1, 2022

Attending Board Members: Mary Esther Putnam, Chairwoman; Bob Dalley, Vice-Chairman; Allen Cannon, Mike Stucki, Herman Nordbruch

PVSSD Assistants: Rick Peetz, Treasurer; Steve Shakespeare, Fire Chief; LaDawn Christensen, Secretary

Attending Guest: Claudia Davis, Brian Davis, Robert Hardy, Frank Davie, Emily T. Neilson, Scott Dunkleman, Robert Bailey, Gene Phillips

Welcome:  Meeting called to order by Mary Esther.  Prayer given by Bob and Pledge of Allegiance led by Allen.

General Business:Bob moved to approve the May 2022 meeting minutes, Allen seconded and all in favor.

Board Member Reports:  Mary Esther thanked the flag committee for the beautiful Memorial weekend flag display in the valley.

Post Office Building:Allen and Mark Owens spoke with Kim Campbell regarding the design features of a future mail/community building.  Allen will present to the US Forest Service for their initial input and approval.

Pine Valley Building Permits:  Two building permit issued.

Fire Chief Report:  Eight EMT calls since our last meeting and one report of a campfire.  Steve suggests additional funds be added to the 2023 budget for fire station propane use.

Treasurer Report:  Rick presented April and May financials.  They were approved by Bob, seconded by Allen and all in favor.  Rick mentioned second notice for PVSSD impact fees will be sent soon.

Citizen Requests:  Emily Neilson reported the Pine Valley Overlay Zone is on the upcoming county commissioner’s agenda and encourages attendance.  Claudia Davis reported a Zumba/Strength Training exercise classes being held at the fire station once a week is going well.  Robert Hardy suggests those with Medicare order their Covid test kits online.

The next scheduled PVSSD meeting will be July 6, 2022.

PVSSD Board Meeting adjourned.  Moved into PVLAD meeting.

Attending Guest: Gene Phillips, Scott Dunkleman, Emily Nielson, Mary E. Putnam, Robert Bailey, Robert Hardy, Brian Davis, Claudia Davis

Welcome:  Meeting called to order by Frank.

Minutes from May 2022:Allen approved, and Bob seconded, all in favor.

Board Member Reports:

Bob reported general traffic is down in May compared to the last 2 years.

Herman reported crime rates are static in Washington County since his initial reports to the board.

Allen proposed the board assign Emily Nielson as a Special Advisor to assist the board in the Pine Valley Overlay Zoning approval processes if the county approves.  Bob seconded, all in favor.

Community Watch:  Eighty-three families have signed up for the program.  A radio and Next Door Neighbor social media app training will be discussed at the next meeting on June 25th at 4:00 p.m.

Pine Valley Dump:Report of large items and ash dumped on the dumping grounds.

Treasurer Report:  April & May financials were approved by Allen and seconded by Bob, all in favor.

Citizens Request:  In the event the Pine Valley Overlay Zone is passed, the process and requirements of the board were discussed with Emily Nielsen.
