July 6, 2022

Attending Board Members: Mary Esther Putnam, Chairwoman; Bob Dalley, Vice-Chairman; Allen Cannon, Herman Nordbruch
Excused Board Member:  Mike Stucki
PVSSD Assistants: Rick Peetz, Treasurer; Steve Shakespeare, Fire Chief; LaDawn Christensen, Secretary
Attending Guest: Claudia Davis, Brian Davis, Robert Hardy, Tom Nielson, Frank Davie, Emily T. Nielson, Gene Phillips

Welcome:  Meeting called to order by Mary Esther.  Prayer given by Bob and Pledge of Allegiance led by Herman.

General Business:  Bob moved to approve the June 2022 meeting minutes, Herman seconded and all in favor.

Board Member Reports:  No board member reports

Emily reported the Pine Valley Overlay Zone is on the upcoming county commissioner’s agenda and encourages attendance.  If approved, it will be effective two weeks later.  She suggested a time change for the PVLAD meeting.  It was discussed, and no decision was made. It will be on the agenda for August.

Pine Valley Building Permits:  One permit received.

Fire Chief Report:>Eight EMT calls since our last meeting, four in Pine Valley including one search and rescue incident.  Steve reported the ambulance will be in service in a few days.  He thanked the fire department leaders and volunteers for their work.

Treasurer Report:  Rick presented June financials.  They were approved by Bob, seconded by Allen and all in favor.

Citizen Requests:  Claudia Davis thanked all involved with the 4th of July celebration.

The next scheduled PVSSD meeting will be August 3, 2022.

PVSSD Board Meeting adjourned.  Moved into PVLAD meeting.

 

Pine Valley Local Administrative District Board Meeting
July 6, 2022

Attending Board Members: Frank Davie, Chairman; Allen Cannon, Vice Chairman; Bob Dalley, Herman Nordbruch

PVSSD Assistants:  Rick Peetz, Treasurer; Steve Shakespeare, Fire Chief; LaDawn Christensen, Secretary; Emily Nielson, Overlay Zone Advisor
Attending Guest: Gene Phillips, Emily Nielson, Tom Nielson, Robert Hardy, Brian Davis, Claudia Davis

Welcome:  Meeting called to order by Frank

Minutes from June 2022:  Bob approved, and Allen seconded, all in favor.

Board Member Reports:

Bob reported the current traffic is trending down 20% year over year.

Herman reported the county has peaked with the number of bookings in the last 5 days since he started keeping track.  Most likely due to the July 4th holiday.

Emily Neilson reported the Pine Valley Overlay Zone is on the upcoming county commissioner’s agenda and encourages attendance.  If approved, it will be effective two weeks later.  Emily suggested a time change for the Pine Valley Local Administrative District, it was discussed, and no decision was made. It will be on the agenda for August.

Emily led a discussion regarding the overlay zone process, and the forms that would be required and reviewed as part of our future meetings.

Community Watch:  Allen and Gene are trying to meet Sergeant Aaron Thompson to update him on the progress being made with the Pine Valley Community Watch.  Gene reported 84 families involved with the program.  Thirty people attended the last meeting on radio training.  Herman is working on arranging meetings with other communities.

Pine Valley Dump:  Graffiti was reported on a dumpster.  It was painted over by a community member.

Treasurer Report:  Bob approved, Herman seconded, and all in favor.

Citizens Request:  No requests.

Steve suggested the board work with the county for funding in the future in the event the Special Service District is combined with another district.
