February 9, 2022

Attending Board Members: Mary Esther Putnam, Chairwoman; Bob Dalley, Vice-Chairman; Mike Stucki, Herman Nordbruch
PVSSD Assistants:  Rick Peetz, Treasurer; Steve Shakespeare, Fire Chief; LaDawn Christensen, Secretary
Excused Board Member: Allen Cannon
Attending Guest: Emily T. Neilson, Jason Ranoa, Frank Davie, Rick Albee, Gene Phillips

Welcome:  Meeting called to order by Mary Esther.  Prayer given by Mike and Pledge of Allegiance led by Herman.

General Business:  Bob moved to approve the January 2022 meeting minutes, Mike seconded and all in favor.

Board Member Reports:  Mike Stucki reported that the state will be doing work on SR18.  Bob reported on the most current information on the county’s possible consolidation of the SSD’s along SR18.

Post Office Building: No new information.  The temporary building is now in use.

Pine Valley Building Permits:  One building permit issued.

Fire Chief Report: Steve reported 13 incidents since our last meeting.  All EMT related, except two which were smoke alarm calls.  Steve asked Rick Albee to show the board the new Tempus patient monitor.

Treasurer Report:  New tires were purchased for Engine 141, as well as snow tires for Rescue 141. Bob approved the financials, Mike seconded, and all in favor.

Citizen Requests:  Emily Neilson reported the progress with the Overlay Zone.

The next scheduled PVSSD meeting will be March 9, 2022.

PVSSD Board Meeting adjourned.  Moved into PVLAD meeting.

Minutes from January 2022:  Bob approved, Mike seconded and all in favor.

Board Member Reports:

Bob Dalley, traffic report:  January had less traffic compared to last year.

Herman Nordbruch, county crime report:  Current bookings much higher than normal.  No significant activity to report in Pine Valley.

Mike Stucki, five-county public health report:  Heat Program is being pushed, where you can donate to assist others if they don’t have funds for adequate heating.  Currently, several pharmacies are reducing hours, and limiting vaccinations due to staffing issues and illness.  The flu is on the uptick and they are encouraging people to get their free COVID home test.

 

Community Watch:  Gene Phillips reported six Community Watch signs were installed last week throughout the valley.  Community Watch letter will go out with the PVSSD assessment next week.

Home Fire Alarms:  Steve reported the Ring alarm system has a sensor that once a smoke alarm is activated the sensor activates and notifies property owners.  Internet is required.  This can be a solution for residents in the valley.

Pine Valley Dump:  No issues.

Treasurer Report:  Rick presented financials. Bob approved and Herman seconded.

Citizens Request:  No requests.
