Pine Valley Local Administrative District Board Meeting
September 6, 2023
Attending Board Members: Frank Davie, Chairman; Allen Cannon, Vice-Chairman; Herman Nordbruch, Mike Stucki, Bob Dalley (excused)
PVLAD Assistants: Rick Peetz, Treasurer (excused); LaDawn Christensen, Secretary; Emily Nielson, Overlay Zone Advisor

Welcome, Prayer & Pledge of Allegiance: Meeting called to order by Frank. Mike provided the prayer, and Herman led the pledge.
Pine Valley Overlay Business: The Manzars requested Pine Valley Overlay Zone approval from the board for their home. Information on the house was sent before the meeting for the board to review. Frank reviewed the requirements with the Manzars, and after answering questions and receiving a few comments from Emily, the board approved their request.
Minutes from the August 2023 Meeting: Herman approved the minutes, Allen seconded, and all in favor.
Board Member Reports:
Herman commented on the county crime report, which is within parameters. He mentioned that on August 23rd, a grand opening was held for a Crisis Stabilization Center. This mental health facility is used for law enforcement instead of jail or mental wards for people with mental issues.
Mike mentioned that COVID-19 is on the rise in the nation. The Southwest Utah Health Department is available for COVID-19 and flu immunizations.
Community Watch: Gene reported that the secondary FM station and antenna is now available for use. A radio/communication workshop will be held on September 16th at the fire station. The county will soon post the new and improved community watch signs.
Sheriff’s Office Review: Nothing significant to discuss.
Community Center: Frank and Allen met with forest ranger Joe Rechsteiner and discussed the process and results from the residents’ survey regarding the community/mail center. Allen is waiting to hear from the forest service and if they will grant us the use of the property for the center.
Treasurer Report: The financials for August will be discussed in October’s meeting.
Citizens Request: No requests.
