General Business:
Mary Esther called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. John led the Pledge of Allegiance and Allen led the prayer.
The minutes of the December 6, 2017 meeting were read by each Board Member. Allen motioned to accept the minutes with one correction. Bob seconded the motion and all else were in favor.
Building Permits to Review:
Jake Burningham presented plans for a personal residence at 785 Carter Drive on the corner of Terry Parkway and Carter Circle. He will be the owner builder. The plans were approved and then signed by Allen, Bob and John. He will send a check for the impact fee.
Board Member Reports:
John commented on the quality of the new cattle guard that has been installed near the dump station.
Mary Esther welcomed our new member, Bob Dalley. He is looking forward to serving the community. Dall Winn has retired from the Board. He has served on both the Fire Department and Special Service District Board for over thirty years. Allen suggested to send a gift certificate for dinner in St George as a retirement gift. It was agreed to give him a gift certificate and plaque which Mary Esther will purchase.
Bob asked questions about jobs on the Board and Mary Esther explained some of the different duties and responsibilities of the Board.
Fire Chief Report: Steve went over the five incidents in December.
Treasurer Report: Monthly financial reports had been sent to all members and it was decided to wait until next month to review them.
It was brought up that we should vote on the Chairman as we do each January. Allan made a motion to nominate Mary Esther for Chairwoman, John seconded, and all were in favor.
Bob motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 pm. John seconded, and all were in favor.
The next scheduled PVSSD meeting will be February 7, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
