GENERAL BUSINESS
Mary Esther called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. John led the Pledge of Allegiance and Allen led the prayer.
The Minutes of the November 1, 2017 Meeting were read by each Board Member. Allen motioned to accept the Minutes with two corrections. John seconded the motion and all else were in favor.
Building Permits to Review
There were no Building Permits.
Open Meeting Budget:
Rick handed out copies of the proposed budget after adding in the suggestions from last meeting. Money has been added in for drainage in front of the Fire Station. In the winter the walkway ices up. Also, money for fire hydrant repairs was added. The Town likes to repair or add a new needed fire hydrant each year. Other small increases were noted. Allen and others told Rick he had done a great job on the Budget. Allen made a motion to accept the budget changes, pay off the $8500 on the loan this year along with the regular payment, raise the $150 fire assessment fee $5 to $155, add a $50 fire assessment fee to vacant lots, continue to evaluate the levy process with the County for the following year and approve the suggested budget as detailed by Rick. Mary Esther asked for any comments, then asked for a vote. John seconded Allen’s motion, and all were in favor.
Board Member Reports:
Mary Esther spoke about the many hours of extra work Rick had put in this last year in mapping on the computer. Each lot is mapped by name of owner and lot number. He invoiced the fire assessment fee using an invoice generated again by name of owner and lot number. She suggested a bonus to be paid to Rick for his many hours spent on this project. John motioned a bonus be paid to Rick and Allen seconded it, all we in favor. Rick thanked the Board. John, Mary Esther and everyone on the Board wanted to thank the County for the new Cattle Guard.
Fire Chief Report: Steve had four incidents this last month. He spoke about the fire equipment we had now. Allen mentioned the great dedication of all the Fire Fighters and EMT’s in the Valley.
Treasurer Report: Rick read and explained the “Balance Sheet” dated November 30, 2017, the “Profit & Loss Sheet” dated November 2017, the “Profit and Loss Detail Sheet” dated November 2017 and the “Profit and Loss Budget vs. Actual Sheet” dated January through November 2017. Financials were motioned by Allen, and seconded by John, all else approved.
John motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 pm. Allen seconded, and all were in favor.
The next scheduled PVSSD meeting will be January 3, 2018 at 6:00 pm.
