Pine Valley Special Services District Meeting on Nov 2, 2016 at 6:00 pm

Guest: Guin Winn, Laurett Winterton, Frank Davie, Steve Shakespeare, Ford Northington and Tom Nielsen
GENERAL BUSINESS
Mary Esther Putnam called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm, and Dall Winn led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Meeting Minutes
Minutes of the Meeting for October 5, 2016 were read by each Board Member. Herman motioned to accept the Minutes with one correction. Allen seconded the motion and all else were in favor.
Building Permits to Review
There were no Building Permits.
Review of the Budget
Rick reviewed the 2017 proposed budget comparing it to the 2016 budget. Each line item was discussed and changes were made. After discussion, a revised 2017 budget was agreed upon and will be presented at an open meeting on December 7, 2016.
Board Member Reports.
Dall reported the progress on the Firemen and EMT Appreciation Dinner to be held on Nov.12 at 6:00 pm. The gate at the West end of Main Street has been finished and will be appreciated by the people who use it. We will be looking for a project for next year.
Fire Chief: Gerald gave us a copy of the Chief’s Report 2 November 2016. Laurett Winterton reported on ten incidents in October. Frank Davie talked about the need for more hand-held radios and it was agreed that Frank would take care of the matter. Gerald read his report to us. He explained they were in the final negotiations of purchasing a fire truck. He informed us this would be his final report after 10 years as Chief, and Steve Shakespeare would become Chief on November 12. He was then given a warm applause from the Board and the Audience.
Treasurer Report: Rick Peetz read and explained the “Balance Sheet” dated October 31, 2016, the “Profit & Loss Sheet” dated October 2016, the “Profit & Loss Detail” dated October 2016 and the “Profit and Loss Budget vs. Actual” dated January through October 2016.
Herman motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 pm. Allen seconded and all were in favor.
The next scheduled PVSSD meeting will be December 7, 2016 at 6:00 pm.
