Dall reported he has received a letter from Recreation, Arts and Parks explaining availability of funds for Beautification in Washington County for 2017.  We were successful in receiving funds for the new gate at the West end of the Valley in 2016.  Allen mentioned a Pavillion with rest rooms for the many people from Washington County who spend time in Pine Valley during the summer.  Dall talked about other projects around Washington County.  It was agreed we have need for a Recreational Area.  It was also mentioned that Washington County belongs to The Five County Association of Government that provides funding for approved Capital Projects within the five Counties.  We will look into this.

Allen mentioned an opening on the Washington County Planning Committee with applications due by the end of December.  He mentioned Washington County is doing a good job in maintaining our roads in the Valley.  He also mentioned we might get funding to build a new Post Office that has a more permanent look and built to reflect the historical nature of the Valley.  He will look into this.

Fire Chief:  Steve gave us a copy of the Chief’s Report 7 December 2016.  He talked about the five incidents this last month.  Frank Davie told us he had met with the communication department about a new alarm system that will put notifications on cell phones.  Also he is looking into standardizing communication with neighboring areas.
